The short version: Tend stores all of your data on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal or health information. No account is required. No data leaves your device except when you choose to use the AI document parsing feature, which is processed securely and never used to train models.
We built Tend for caregivers on hard days. The last thing you need is to worry about where your family's health information is going.
Tend does not collect personal information. The app operates entirely on your device.
The only data Tend works with is the information you enter or upload directly — recovery schedules, care instructions, medication details, and related notes. This data is stored locally using Apple's on-device storage and is never transmitted to Tend's servers or any third party.
When you photograph or upload a discharge document, Tend sends that document to Anthropic's Claude API for parsing. This is the only moment any data leaves your device.

All recovery schedules, patient records, and care information you create in Tend are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is protected by your device's built-in security, including encryption at rest.
Tend does not operate a backend server or database. There is no Tend account, no login, and no cloud sync. Your data exists only on the devices where you have the app installed.

Tend does not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or any other third-party data services.
Tend is designed for caregivers and patients managing medical recovery. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Because all data is stored on your device, you can delete everything at any time by deleting the Tend app. All associated data is permanently removed when the app is uninstalled.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app. Continued use of Tend after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
